This blog contains my most recent work. I'll update it often with client sneak peeks, silly ramblings on various topics, and upcoming business news. Here you'll find a mix of modern and vintage, color popping crazy photos mixed with soulful black and whites, wild and crazy childhood moments mixed with heart-melting newborn captures. I am primarily a natural light photographer (although I'm known to rock crazy lighting techniques when the moment is right.) Check back often, and be sure to leave some love while you're here. My heart soars when I work, and this is where I share it. I love this journey I'm on, and I hope you can find a bit of enjoyment in it, too.

I strive to document everyday moments in a unique way. You won't hear me say "say cheese". You'll see me play with your child, gently handle your newborn, engage your family in activities that you would do if you were hanging out and having fun. Posed, studio-ish photos are not my general style. I work to get to know you - what makes your family special - so that I can create artwork that shows the spirit and love of your family.
I want you to feel, smile, laugh, and remember the moments I capture. I want to show you, or remind you, how beautiful your life is. I want to take the happiest and simplest of moments and capture them for you. I want to show you...."the art of your heart"
This brother and sister pair may have been the sweetest, most cooperative children I have ever worked with. They were so loving to one another - it was wonderful to witness. They traveled up to Valpo to meet me for their photo session, and thankfully the day was perfect. I had a great time with these two, and it was so fun to work with twins!!!

This session was a pure delight. Mom had an amazing vision for the session, and I was more than happy to hunt around to find the perfect locations to fit the bill. The day went off without a hitch! The girls were practically made to model, the day was gorgeous, the light was yummy, and look at these outfits!!! I do LOVE Matilda Jane!! Thanks for a wonderful time, ladies! I can’t wait for the next session!

OMG, you guys….you have no idea how much *fun* this family was to shoot. By the end of the session they had me ROLLING. They made me walk away from the session wishing I had 3 teenagers and a 5 year old at home - NOT an easy task to do! :D I know you guys have been dying to see these. I LOVE them!! Thanks for an amazing session!

Here is a long overdue blog post for some very patient parents. Brooklyn arrived 1 month ago, just after Mother’s Day. She arrived to a set of amazingly cool, loving parents. It was such a wonderful experience to work with them. I loved every second, and I look forward to watching this family grow together! Here is a Father’s Day present for you, Michael! Enjoy!

I’m finishing up with the last of 2009 Seniors before they graduate. Here is another gorgeous girl that is ready to embark on an entirely new chapter in her life. I remember how exciting and exhilarating it was to graduate and start college. This girl has some incredible plans for the future, and I wish her the best! Hey All! Everything around here has been *very* quite for awhile, as I have been recovering from a pretty serious back injury. Thank goodness there is no surgery in my future, just lots of physical therapy. I’m slowly getting back to normal now. These parents have been SO patient with me, and I know they’ve been dying for their photos to appear on the blog. Actually, I can say they have been very patient through this whole process, as it was what seemed like a never ending journey to finally get a session day with good weather! But, we finally lucked out and ended up with a beautiful Spring day. I had a wonderful time capturing their family bliss, and can’t wait to see them again!

What an amazing session! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this family. I usually leave newborn sessions full of baby fever, wanting to sneak the new little bundle of joy home with me, but this time I wanted to take the whole family home! lol You know when you meet people, and things just click? That’s how it was with these two. Seriously, Mom & Dad were so incredibly cool and laid back. They had received a session gift certificate as a baby shower gift, and I am SO happy to now have them as clients. Thank you for having me over within the first week (it is the BEST time for a newborn session - Addison really barely woke up or even seemed to notice anything I was doing to her!). I can’t wait for you to see the entire gallery! :)

I’m about DONE with this wet, wet, icky, rainy, wet, icky weather!!! I have never, ever had to cancel so many sessions due to weather. This is crazy!!! Luckily, this girl booked a perfect spring day. The flowers and trees were gorgeous, the temp was perfect, and the wind even seemed to pick up at the exact moment it should to blow her hair just so. I loved this session (soooooo many favorites!), and I can’t wait for her to get her prints! :)
has the bluest eyes around. I can’t get enough of them. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph her 4 times this past year. This beach session was the last of our 4 seasons senior package, and I’m now working on finishing up her 4 seasons album. I was getting a tad sentimental at the end of our shoot, telling her she was like my newborn-1 year clients that I see every few months, and then all of a sudden I don’t get to see them as often. After I made her promise to keep me updated on her life forever I let her leave. lol Jess, it’s been so much fun being your senior photographer. I can’t wait for you to see your album. Thanks for choosing me, and giving me the opportunity to document this year of your life. All the best to you next year. I know you’ll do great. I expect to hear all about it! :)
Meet Kara, my newest senior model from Morgan Township! We met close to her home last week to get some images for my model/rep program. She was a perfect candidate for the position, and I really am looking forward to taking her senior photos this summer!
