Pre-Prom 08

I was very excited to be asked to document pre-prom for this GORGEOUS couple! Taylor (and her dress AND shoes) were stunning! Ricky may be the most polite senior boy I have ever met. No wonder Taylor’s Mom loves him so much! I hope you two had a great time! Watch for Taylor’s upcoming beach model shoot. Can’t wait! :)

Gorgeous Family – Gorgeous Day

What a perfect day for a family session! This family was a pure delight. They have a beautiful home on a lake, and it was an ideal setting for a family session. Little Miss below was sporting some gorgeous duds from my favorite Mommy & Me boutique – Butterfly Kisses. This adorable little one will be entered into our Cover Child 2009 Contest!!

Thanks for having me out, and having such a good time. You were all so sweet, and I look forward to seeing you again when I drop off the images!

I’m SOOOO behind!!!!!!!!

I have so much coming up on the blog, but between the holiday weekend, strep throat, and pink eye, I’ve been a bit out of commission. Until tomorrow, here is the latest from my niece’s photo sessions. She is almost ready to graduate, and I can’t believe it! I have a new slideshow application that I’m going to offer to my seniors….it can be added to you tube, ipods, etc….

They are kinda baller….I love them

I Can’t Believe It’s Been 1 Year!!!

Ian turned 1 year old yesterday, and I was with him and his family on Saturday to help document this milestone in his life. I’ve actually seen Ian every 3 months for the past year. I met him when he was just 6 days old. He was the very first newborn boy I had ever photographed. Watching him grow up this past year and capturing all the different moments in his life has been such an amazing experience. I was teary-eyed before, during, and after our Saturday session. I feel so lucky to be able to get to know my clients so well, to share in these wonderful moments in their lives, and all while doing what I love! I’m truly blessed. Jason, Natalie, and Ian….thank you for a fantastic year! You have such a special place in my heart. I can’t wait to see how Ian has changed when I see you this fall!

Much love to you all!!

How cool was this for me to see! I forgot to take photos of the other spots. But here was one area they has all of his photos set up for his party. It was SO neat to see so much of my work n one place! :D

A Contest!!!!!! 2009 Seniors

I LOVE contests. To date, I’ve won three different photography related contests. They’ve all involved taking some sort of photo and submitting it to win the contest. I had SO much fun taking part in them, and then in the end, I won some fantastic prizes. I thought it might be time to host a contest like this myself.

This contest is for 2009 Seniors. If you would like to win a 2009 Senior session – keep on reading.

Another thing I love is Starbucks. I know a lot of you Seniors out there are with me on that one. I have a revolving display up right now at the Starbucks in Valparaiso (the one on Rt. 2 near Target). Right now I have one of my most FAVORITE senior photos on display there. This isn’t your typical senior photo, because it doesn’t even show Julie’s beautiful face. But, Julie was rockin’ out these amazing red high heels, and I knew we had to make them the subject of a killer photo. I just love this photo so much. I love the symbolism of her on a bridge. I love the contrast between the boldness of her shoes and the reservation in her hands.

Since this is one of my favorite photos, I had to order it as a canvas – one of my favorite products. Right now, it is hanging out in Starbucks. Here is the contest. Go to the Starbucks, order your favorite drink, have someone take a photo that contains

1. You

2. Your Favorite Starbucks drink

3. My canvas display of the red shoes photo

4. You rockin’ out your favorite RED accessory. It doesn’t matter what it is.

My display will be up until Monday, May 19th at 3:00. All contest entries must submit a jpeg image to be by emailing it to me at

samantha@samanthauphold.com

by 5:00 on Monday, May 19th. The coolest photo wins!!! Be creative and have fun! :)

Winner will get a complimentary Senior session!!!

SO Excited!!!!

Today is the Butterfly Kisses & Samantha Uphold Photography Charity Event for Children’s Memorial Hospital.  This is the first (hopefully, of many) event that I have been a part of, and I’m thrilled to pieces!!!  The weather looks fantastic, which is good, because I have about 2-3 hours of mini sessions lined up for this afternoon.  I can’t wait to see the fashion show take place, and to see everyone win the insane raffle prizes that have been donated by local businesses.  I’ve been blown away by everyone’s generosity.  There are going to be some seriously happy people after today’s event.  I’ll be sure to post pictures sometime mid-week.

I’ll also be launching the Cover Child 2009 Contest today.  Watch for more details to come.  If you would like to be added to my email newsletter list, please drop me a line at with the subject line “add” at samantha@samanthauphold.com

It’s the best way to ensure you are first to know about the latest news and promotions concerning Samantha Uphold Photography.
