2008 Availability…..

is almost gone!  If you want a session this year, you need to contact me now!  I’m excited to be almost completely booked for the year.  There are only three weekend dates left, and there are very limited weekday sessions still available.

I’m also tossing around the idea of offering one or two mini session dates.  These would be short sessions – approx. 20 minutes.  There would be no session fee, but you would pre-purchase a package including custom printed Christmas Cards (my available lines can now be seen in my galleries in the website) and prints for yourself or as holiday gifts for loved ones. These mini session would be child focused (no families).   If you’d be interested, let me know and I’ll put you on the list for information.

Lovely…

is the best way to describe my time spent with this family. I was invited up to their family cottage in Union Pier, Michigan. I knew from the beginning I was going to love shooting at this location. Every little detail included generations of memories for this family. I love to incorporate special touches into portraits – something that means so much to the client, but yet may not be obvoius to other viewers. I think every photo we took at the cottage had that extra special touch. There was just so much history and love streaming from this place. I was sad to leave!

“A” family – thank you for being so hospitable. I think we finally nailed down the perfect day. I love your home away from home, and I look forward to seeing you all again!

Just a little…

Sunday Heart. There is really a lot of meaning behind this image, but it is so late early, that I’m not going to even try to write something sensible or possibly deep. Let your imagination wander….

Do you ever have days…

like this?

“There are some days when no matter what I say it feels like I’m far away in another country & whoever is doing the translating has had far too much to drink.”

It seems like I can always turn to the storypeople to somehow find the words that I could never imagine to say. ”

connected by a silver cord that hums with sadness the further it is stretched”

and, why can’t we just all be like this?

“liking each other because it’s a beautiful day & it seems like a waste of time to disagree about stuff the other one is refusing to change out of sheer stubbornness”

I know….that’s not life. BUT, I can still wish it was as easy as that.

Summer is over….

for me, at least. I have to be honest and admit that the summer flew by, and I really could wish a few more weeks of relaxing to come our way. However, I can’t wait to meet all of my new students. I’m so happy to have two careers that literally make my heart sing, so even though ending the summer is sad, I get to go back to work doing something that is my passion. I will be eternally grateful for that.

That’s all for today. :)

Oh my Gorgeous….

everything.  Kids, scenery, house, personalities……this family has it all.  I walked away from this session not only dying to come back to photograph IN the house, but to visit with what I felt were new friends.  The kids were incredible, and the mom was so welcoming and sweet.  THANK YOU for welcoming me into your home and helping to create a great session!  I loved chatting about old crushes, seeing the coolest basement EVER (yes, you are officially the cool mom), and laughing about using our God-given ability to hold things without our hands.  ;)  lol

Can’t wait to see you guys again, and I hope you LOVE LOVE LOVE the images as much as I love them!!

These two siblings have such a connections…check it out.  It’s incredible to witness.  :)
