I just finished my second treatment of chemo, and am finding that I am handling the treatments quite well. When I ran my usual special earlier this year (which is generally only run once a year), I was sideswiped by some scary health news and actually had to turn clients away for fear I wouldn’t be able to keep on schedule with the uncertainty of what was to come. Sooooo….in that case I am running the special AGAIN!! Things have been quiet on the blog this year. 2010 has been a little rough on me. I have started a new, personal blog to document my journey through my latest news – my battle against cancer. I plan on continuing to work through this time, but I’m just a little unsure of what is to come in the near future. I was diagnosed on April 16th, and will most likely be starting treatment in the next couple of weeks. I will be posting updates, news, and progress on this site.

I LOVE working with Di. I’ve known Di for a couple of years now, and the very first time I met her I knew she was someone that I’d like to hang out with. You know when you meet someone and you just click? Yep, it was just like that. Di is hilarious and sweet and intelligent and sarcastic and caring and silly and I just adore her! She asked me to help her put together her modeling portfolio at the end of last year. Since then, her modeling career has TAKEN. OFF. I’m so beyond thrilled for her, and I love stalking, er, watching her facebook to see what exciting jobs she has just recently shot. She had the fantastic idea of doing some inspiration shots based on some classic photos. A few of my favorites are below, along with a few others that I really like. I’ve got a lot of Di’s photos to share, so be watching for more in the next few days. Hugs and Kisses to you, Di! Love ya, girl!!

Isn’t Mother Nature such a tease? The weather lately has been a mixture of amazing and icky, and I am just so anxious for the warm Summer days to come. I love taking photos of my tulip tree during the Spring. There is something about the dead leaves that have held on throughout the winter framed against a beautiful, blue Spring sky that remind me to be patient and enjoy the season. There is nothing better than the surprise of a warm Spring day or the first sign of a flower blooming. The rainy and bitter cold Spring days make those wonderful warm surprises even better. I often need to remind myself to be patient and to truly enjoy and appreciate the moment at hand. So, today I’m editing photos that I have taken for myself – something that I have failed to do for a long time. I’m enjoying this quiet morning and practicing patience.

Aaaannnnddd…..one of my favorite songs. Perfect for this rainy, dreary day.

Thanks to 2010 starting with an epic computer crash, this contest is SUPER late. That just gives me an excuse to make this an even better contest than the past two years. The winning family will get their choice of the image in a 16×20 or a complimentary session. The 2nd place winner will receive an 11×14, and the 3rd place winner will receive and 8×10. I couldn’t have better things to say about this gorgeous girl. When one talks about the “total package” they are referring to girls like this…smart, funny, sweet, beautiful, generous, and on and on. I’ve known Taylor for a few years now, and I am continually impressed by this young woman and her achievements. Taylor is my Senior Model for Valparaiso High School this year, and well….could I have lucked out any more? Taylor is an ACTUAL model!! Jackpot!!
