Life is Good

I woke up this morning, to a good friend knocking on my door at 6:15, keeping me honest on yesterday’s promise of “Yes, I’ll totally get up at 6:00 to go walking!!”. Well, I wasn’t exactly awake and ready, but we did make it out the door by 6:30 and enjoyed a beautiful morning walk. Wendy, thank you for not even batting an eye or seeming the least bit upset that I wasn’t awake and ready. I love you for being so forgiving!!

Then, I came home and worked on a surprise for a client. I really like surprising my clients with unexpected goodies. It makes my job even more fun than it is already! Before I knew it, it was 9:00 and time for OPRAH!! I love summertime, when I’m able to kick back and watch a little Oprah in the mornings. Well, this morning Oprah opened the floodgates as she interviewed Randy Pausch. I’m familiar with his story, as a few months ago, I watched his “final lecture” on YouTube. I laughed, I cried, I was moved and incredibly inspired. If you have an extra hour, or even if you don’t….watch his last lecture. I was captivated for the entire hour or so (yes, hour…it’s worth every minute). I’ll let you watch the video of his lecture to hear his story, instead of me recapping it. His speaking and his story really remind me of how wonderful and precious life is – and how we need to recognize that on a daily basis. He speaks a lot about finding your passion, and that is something I am grateful for on a daily basis. I have two professions that I am utterly over the moon passionate about. Who could ask for more? I’m getting paid to go take pictures at the beach tonight of a wonderful mother and daughter who have become repeat clients and friends. Life is good.

And then…..after all the tears the show evoked….The View comes on. I’m not a huge fan of the view, but….. Guess who was on the show today? Bret Michaels. Oh yeah….life is good! hehe

Life is ESPECIALLY good when you have a husband like mine, who created the most user friendly, pretty garden in the world – because we both hate to pull weeds!!  We spent the other evening creating and planting our overhauled garden area!  I love it!!

The carpenter in him cannot stand for anything to NOT be straight.  I’m lucky to have him, because I am SO not like that!
