Oh my Gorgeous….

everything.  Kids, scenery, house, personalities……this family has it all.  I walked away from this session not only dying to come back to photograph IN the house, but to visit with what I felt were new friends.  The kids were incredible, and the mom was so welcoming and sweet.  THANK YOU for welcoming me into your home and helping to create a great session!  I loved chatting about old crushes, seeing the coolest basement EVER (yes, you are officially the cool mom), and laughing about using our God-given ability to hold things without our hands.  ;)  lol

Can’t wait to see you guys again, and I hope you LOVE LOVE LOVE the images as much as I love them!!

These two siblings have such a connections…check it out.  It’s incredible to witness.  :)

So thankful…

So thankful we put this session off until the weather cooperated

So thankful for the amazing clients that I have

So thankful that I get to do a job that makes my heart soar!

When I read the words this mother so graciously took the time to share with me, I knew it was going to be a fantastic session. I’ve made it a point to try to get to know my clients before the session – to try to really understand them. Carolyn was so wonderful, she even sent me a hand written letter before the session, going above and beyond answering the questions I ask my clients. I just have to share part of this…Carolyn..I hope you don’t mind!! She booked this session as a gift to her Moms for Mother’s Day. How sweet!!

“My joys are watching my children grow. Learning to become a better mom each day, learning new things about myself and my family. I try to enjoy everyday for what it has………We are a pretty sarcastic family. I never want to forget my children’s smile, our time together. I love to see their personality differences. I would love to see our closeness and our fun together.

I’m not so interested in classic poses. I love unique photos. I want more natural photos. I want our parents to see how thankful we are to have one another.”

::swoon::

Anyone close to me knows family sessions are not my favorite, because most everyone WANTS the “everyone smiling looking at the camera” photos. Don’t get me wrong..I do some of those, and I like them occasionally, too. But trying to get everyone to look just “so” while the little ones are restless, the wind is blowing Mom’s hair around, and Dad wants to be watching the game (haven’t we ALL been apart of this horrible scenario?!?!?) is not my idea of a fun time. There are photographers who are wonderful and love to do this. It is an amazing gift. But for me, what makes my heart sing as an artist is to truly capture a family just “being”. Reading that this was what this mom wanted was like hitting the jackpot!!! I could schedule family sessions all day long if I knew this was what they wanted to get out of their session. So…if any of you feel like the mom above…CALL ME! I am the photographer for you!!!

M family…I am so thankful you chose me as your photographer! I had the BEST time hanging out at the beach. You are such a beautiful fun family. I hope you LOVE your images as much as I do!!
