I am literally *bursting* with joy over these photos.  My dear friend Kristi recently gave birth to her first child, and I was lucky enough to get to visit them for a morning on Karli’s 17th day of life.  Mom and Dad are completely in love with her – how could they not be??  It was so good to get to see my friend again and to capture this precious time in their life.  Kristi, Chad – I am SO, SO happy for you three!!  Karli is a perfect angel, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to come over and take these photos.  I can’t wait to watch her grow up.  You two are already phenomenal parents.  I love you guys!

{Sweet Boy} | Northwest Indiana Photographer

Take one look at this bleach blonde hair and piercing blue eyes – can you tell this little one is growing up in the surf and sun in Florida? He was up here visiting Grandma, and we were able to sneak in a quick session. A little guy this cute deserves some time in front of the camera. He was wonderful to photograph, and it’s easy to see where he gets it (mom and grandma are both GORGEOUS!). It was so nice meeting you three! Mom, I hope you’re settled back in at home. Get ready to view some pure yumminess in the form of your son – his gallery will be up shortly. Grandma, here’s a little sneak peak of your favorite little man – I’m sure you’re missing him dearly! Thanks for an awesome session!

Troopers….

this family has had TWO back to back mosquito filled sessions.  Last year’s was crazy, but this year we were prepared with mucho, mucho bug spray.  I can’t say it made things perfect, but boy did it help!  It’s always fun to see returning clients, espeically when one of their boys is a former student of mine!  I love watching past students grow up – one big plus to teaching in a small, k-12 school!  Hopefully, I’ll have his little brother in class next year!

Thanks for another fun session.  I love the car images, and I hope you guys do, too!

Best Session Recipe…

Your one of your BFFs from high school

+

Her two adorable boys

+

Location:  Cool Farm in Wanatah oozing with photographically supreme surroundings

+

Free reign and no pressure

+

Happy Subjects

- (MINUS!!!!)

Swarms of killer mosquitoes ready to suck every last ounce of juice from your generally happy body, while surely infecting you with West Nile

If it wasn’t for the attack of the killer mosquitoes, this may have been the best session EVER.  However, try to be at your best creatively while worrying about your subject (and you) becoming one big swollen mess in a matter of 3.2 seconds.  Not easy.  If they didn’t live so far away, it would have been a rescheduling MUST, but that wasn’t a possibility.  So, we strapped on our big girl and boy panties (which were unfortunately free of any available bug spray), and made the best of it.  Thank goodness for her two overly willing subjects.  These boys are not only gorgeous, but good tempered, and funny.  Blake, buddy, I hope we got some images that YOU like.  I can’t wait to hear a new song next time I see you!  You are the definition of a good big brother and a kid that is beyond his years. I was so glad to get to spend some time with you!  Thanks for the laughs and being such a trooper.  Sara – I love you, and it was so good seeing you.  Your new little one is beautiful and lovely in every way.  I’m so happy to see you and your family so happy.  WB forever.  lololol

2008 Availability…..

is almost gone!  If you want a session this year, you need to contact me now!  I’m excited to be almost completely booked for the year.  There are only three weekend dates left, and there are very limited weekday sessions still available.

I’m also tossing around the idea of offering one or two mini session dates.  These would be short sessions – approx. 20 minutes.  There would be no session fee, but you would pre-purchase a package including custom printed Christmas Cards (my available lines can now be seen in my galleries in the website) and prints for yourself or as holiday gifts for loved ones. These mini session would be child focused (no families).   If you’d be interested, let me know and I’ll put you on the list for information.

This….

made my day.

080808-starbucks2_edited

I logged into myspace today, and I saw this photo as one of my client’s profile pics.  Her gorgeous twins are on display now at the Starbucks in Valpo, and she stopped in with her beautiful boys to check them out.  She LOVED them!  Thanks for sharing the photo with me, Andi!  You made me smile today!!

On a side note, can you believe that the cute little blondie started out with dark, dark hair just like his little brothers?  When I saw his newborn photos, he looked SO much like the twins!  I thought it was so cool to see how much he had changed.  I wonder if the twins will end up with blonde hair like their sweet older bro?

I guess I was the only one….

who was tired last night! lol I’ve been running this contest with the intention to slip up a few times. However, last night I think I collapsed from exhaustion. Yesterday started out with flat tire and just kept on from there!! So, my intentions were not to miss a day, but that’s what happened. Let me tell you, my blog readers were on the ball last night!! I had seven emails within 1 hour of midnight. The winner, though, emailed me at exactly 12:00 a.m. Congrats to Tonya!! This means I’ll get to photograph more of this little cutie! I met her, mom, and grandma at the mini-sessions and charity event held back in May. I can’t wait to have a full session with her! :D

The Dancer

This kid is amazing.  He’s not exactly a kid anymore, as he just turned 18 (check out the sweet tat on his calf).  He will be a senior at Kouts High School this fall, and he job shadowed me during last school year.  Not only is he an awe-inspiring dancer, he is on his way to becoming quite the accomplished photographer.  The photo he took of his friend, Kara, won the free senior session contest held earlier this year.  If you are a senior that has a true passion for something, and you are looking for unique, beautiful senior photos – hit me up!  I was in pure heaven photographing something this unique and bold.  I’m so glad Chris asked me to come to his studio for the session.

Here are just a few of my favorites….
